This was just fun. Although a student project, it was even more so just for fun. I am a fan of the Zelda video games and thought it would be fun to parody those celebrity gossip magazines. I used OK! magazine as my model. As far as the assignment goes, we were told to do literally anything as long as it “oozes InDesign.” So this was made entirely in InDesign. Okay, I shouldn’t say entirely. I did use Photoshop to edit out the background from Zelda. For the assignment though, my instructor wanted a full Magazine cover spread if I was going to do a magazine. So I had to make the spine and back cover with an ad. No biggie. They were fun too. Actually the spine was more annoying. I did them as seperate InDesign pages, although from what I understand magazine covers are usually done as a single page or spread. The back cover also used Photoshop to remove backgrounds from objects but it was then assembled in InDesign.
