For an assignment in my basic Design class, we were to take the assigned bar code and do anything with it as long as the number was readable and the bar code itself was somewhat recognizable as a barcode. This is about as much of a political statement as I like to make in my artwork. Done in colored pencil and scanned with a crappy scanner. I really need a scanner.
